Comprehensive Autism Evaluations for All Ages in Oregon, WI

Maybe you have been quietly keeping a list in your head: the meltdowns when plans shift, the way your child covers their ears at the grocery store, the same three foods on repeat. Our autism evaluations in Oregon, WI, are built for all ages, from young children to adults, and give those observations a clear name. You do not need a referral to start.

Getting an Autism Diagnosis Without the Runaround

Every evaluation opens with a baseline of cognitive, adaptive, and executive functioning, then narrows in on the specific concerns that brought you here. One licensed psychologist carries your case the whole way through, choosing gold standard tools such as the ADOS-2 and weaving in screening for conditions that often ride alongside autism, like ADHD and anxiety.

What Our Autism Evaluation Includes

Autism Evaluation & Support

The point is not simply a yes or no. We map how autism shows up for you or your child across communication, behavior, and sensory processing, then translate that into recommendations you can actually use: things to bring to a teacher, a therapist, or a family member who needs to understand.

Who May Benefit From an Autism Evaluation

in Children, Teens, and Adults

Children

In younger children you might notice speech that arrived late or comes and goes, little eye contact, hand flapping, and toys that get lined up rather than played with. Small changes to the routine can trigger big reactions, and comfort tends to come from whatever is most predictable.

Teens

Teens often look tired more than anything: worn down by loud, crowded hallways and the constant work of reading faces and jokes that do not come naturally. You may see a strong need for sameness, a couple of deep and narrow interests, and a slow drift away from the social world.

Adults

Plenty of adults reach this point after decades of masking, feeling drained by even good social time, and realizing that childhood quirks finally make sense. Women and people assigned female at birth are especially likely to have been overlooked or misdiagnosed, sometimes well into adulthood.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring Diagnostics for Autism Evaluations

At Core Spring Diagnostics, the psychologist who first meets your child is the same one who tests, writes, and explains the results, with no hand off to a psychometrist in between. Every autism evaluation pairs gold standard testing with built in screening for related conditions, and the pace bends to the person rather than a clock. You leave understanding what is going on and what to do next.

Our Evaluation Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation and History

We begin with an unhurried conversation, usually about an hour, with you or a caregiver. Your psychologist gathers the full picture, from early milestones to how things look right now at home, school, or work. That history guides which autism specific tools will give the clearest answer.

Step 2: Personalized Testing

Next comes a testing battery chosen for the person's age and presentation, typically 2 to 6 hours of in person work spread across one to two days. Questionnaires go out to parents or teachers when helpful, and screeners for ADHD and executive function are folded in as standard.

Step 3: The Report

Your psychologist pulls every observation, score, and questionnaire into one detailed, readable report. If anything co occurring surfaces along the way, such as anxiety or sensory differences, it is documented and explained rather than left as a loose end.

Step 4: Feedback and Next Steps

About two to three weeks later you return for a feedback session. We walk through the findings in plain language and hand you individualized recommendations, from home and school strategies to therapy options and accommodation guidance.

FAQs

Got Questions? We’re Here to Answer

No. A referral is never required to be seen at Core Spring Diagnostics. You can reach out and schedule on your own, and we will loop in your pediatrician or another provider only if you ask us to.

You get a clinical interview, a cognitive and executive baseline, autism specific testing with gold standard tools like the ADOS-2, caregiver questionnaires where useful, and screening for co occurring conditions. One psychologist stays with the case straight through the feedback session.

Evaluation can begin as early as 18 to 24 months, though the right timing really depends on your concerns. We work with children, teens, and adults, so there is no age at which it becomes too late to get answers.

It varies from person to person. Expect a clinical interview followed by one or more testing sessions, paced to what the individual needs, with a report and feedback session to follow. We do not lock anyone into a fixed number of sessions.

Call our Madison office at (608) 396 4830 and we will help you find a time. There is no referral to chase down first, so you can book the initial consultation directly.

A plain language report and a feedback session that turns the findings into individualized recommendations, which may include therapy referrals, school accommodations, and practical strategies for home.
