Bipolar Disorder Evaluation

What Is Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder is a mood condition where energy, sleep, and emotion shift between elevated and low periods, and those patterns can be hard to see clearly from the inside.
Maybe there are stretches where you feel wired, sped up, and barely need sleep, then stretches where everything dims and getting through the day feels heavy. Maybe the ups and downs have been written off as stress, moodiness, or just how you are, and the explanations you have been given never quite fit. A careful evaluation looks at the whole arc of your mood over time, names what is happening, and gives you an accurate answer to build on. You can reach out directly, with no referral needed.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring for Bipolar Disorder Evaluations?

At Core Spring Diagnostics, one psychologist stays with your case from the first interview through the feedback session, so nothing is handed off. The pace is individualized and boutique, with no rigid session counts, and every evaluation starts from a baseline and uses mood and personality measures to look closely at the patterns that matter. Because mood conditions rarely travel alone, we also screen for c occurring conditions, so you leave with an accurate answer and a clear next step.

Clear, Individualized Bipolar Disorder Insights

Our evaluations use evidence based assessment tools and a comprehensive, person centered approach to provide clarity, not assumptions. Whether the goal is diagnostic clarification, treatment planning, academic or workplace accommodations, or personal understanding, we provide thoughtful recommendations tailored to each individual’s needs and strengths.

Evaluation Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation and History Review

Your evaluation begins with a one hour clinical interview where your psychologist gathers a thorough history of mood patterns, energy levels, and behavioral changes from childhood through your current daily life. This conversation is critical for identifying the cycling patterns that distinguish bipolar disorder from other mood conditions and for selecting the right assessments.

Step 2: Multi Session Testing Battery

Your psychologist selects a personalized battery of mood and psychological assessments designed to capture the full range of your experiences. Testing involves 2 to 6 hours of in person evaluation over one to two days. You will also be sent home with self report questionnaires, and someone close to you can complete their own to provide perspective on mood and behavioral patterns over time. If your psychologist identifies signs of other conditions (such as ADHD, anxiety, or depression), those areas are screened for as well.

Step 3: Comprehensive Report

All testing data, clinical observations, and questionnaire results are compiled into a detailed diagnostic report. Accurate differential diagnosis is especially important with bipolar disorder, so your psychologist carefully evaluates mood patterns, episode history, and symptom presentation. Any co occurring conditions are fully documented.

Step 4: Feedback and Personalized Recommendations

Approximately two to three weeks after testing, you return for a feedback session. Your psychologist walks through the diagnosis and provides individualized recommendations: treatment planning, evidence based therapy options, medication considerations, lifestyle management strategies, and next steps tailored to your situation.
