IQ & Cognitive Function Testing in DeForest, WI

Maybe a big school decision is looming, whether to grade skip, to push into advanced work, or to request accommodations, and you want solid ground under the choice. Maybe you just need to know where your child genuinely stands. IQ & Cognitive Function Testing in DeForest, WI gives that decision real data instead of guesswork. There is no referral required to begin.

IQ Testing and School Placement Recommendations

Every evaluation starts by establishing a foundation: how your child reasons, how quickly they process, what they can hold in mind, and how they organize and plan, before honing in on the specific decision you are weighing. One licensed psychologist handles the whole arc, from intake through the feedback session, and because things like ADHD, anxiety, or a learning difference can shape the picture, they are screened for as part of the work.

What Our IQ & Cognitive Function Evaluation Includes

IQ & Cognitive Function Evaluation Support

So many of these evaluations sit right before a decision: acceleration, placement, an accommodation request, a plan for the coming year. Our job is to clarify a child's real strengths and the areas that need support, then hand you evidence and recommendations specific enough to actually guide the choice in front of you.

Who May Benefit From an IQ & Cognitive Function Evaluation

in Children, Teens, and Adults

Children

For younger kids, the signals often cluster around school: early or uneven milestones, intense absorption in a chosen subject, boredom that tips into frustration, and questions that outpace the classroom. You may see an obvious gap between what a child can do and what the daily work reflects.

Teens

In teens, it tends to surface as capability the grades never quite show, marks that swing without matching effort, and looming questions about advanced coursework or acceleration. Many want a dependable read on their strengths before locking in the next set of academic choices.

Adults

Adults come to map a profile they have long been curious about, the strengths that always felt natural and the spots that quietly took more work. Some need documentation of how they think for a program or a job; others simply want a decision about their own path grounded in fact.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring Diagnostics for IQ & Cognitive Function Evaluations

With Core Spring Diagnostics, your evaluation stays with one licensed psychologist from intake to feedback, with no relay to a psychometrist and no cookie cutter process. The tools are gold standard and interpreted with genuine care, the timeline adapts to what the case needs, and you finish with data you can trust and recommendations specific enough to act on.

Our Evaluation Process

Step 1: The Opening Interview

Your evaluation begins with roughly an hour of conversation. Your psychologist builds a full background, from early development through the decision now on the table, and uses it to clarify the purpose of testing, whether that is placement, giftedness, or planning, and which measures will be most useful.

Step 2: Testing Built for the Decision

From there, your psychologist selects a battery centered on your question. In person testing generally takes 2 to 6 hours spread across one or two days, and you head home with questionnaires. Depending on what you are deciding, measures of processing speed, memory, executive function, or adaptive skills may be added.

Step 3: The Detailed Report

All of it, the scores, the observations, the questionnaire results, is consolidated into a report covering intellectual ability, clear strengths, processing patterns, and any areas of concern. If something like ADHD or a learning difference turns up during testing, it is documented so the full picture holds.

Step 4: Feedback and a Course of Action

Around two to three weeks later, you come back for your results. Your psychologist lays out the findings in plain terms and provides recommendations built for the decision at hand: educational planning, strategies that use your child's strengths, accommodations where they apply, and clear next steps.

Not at all. A number is only one input. The evaluation reads intellectual ability together with processing speed, working memory, executive function, and other patterns, then explains what that means for the decision you are weighing.

Common reasons include planning for acceleration or placement, identifying giftedness, understanding uneven strengths, supporting an accommodation request, or getting a clear read on how a learner thinks.

Yes. We work with children, teens, and adults, and many adults seek testing when a program or job calls for documentation of how they think.
