ADHD can be loud and obvious or quiet and easy to miss, and either way it deserves a real answer. Core Spring's Mequon evaluations look at the whole pattern of attention, organization, and follow-through, for children, teens, and adults, with one psychologist owning every step. You can reach out on your own, no referral needed.
At Core Spring Diagnostics, we provide comprehensive ADHD evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults in the Mequon area. One psychologist owns the entire process from clinical interview through testing, scoring, report, and feedback. No handoffs, no rigid timelines. ADHD looks different from one person and one age to the next, and the signs are sometimes subtle or mistaken for something else. Every evaluation begins with a foundational baseline, then layers in ADHD-specific measures and screens for common companions like anxiety, depression, or learning differences. When concerns run deeper, a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation extends the picture.
In children it often appears as restlessness and fidgeting, difficulty holding attention through a lesson, impulsive blurting, forgotten assignments, and inconsistent results that do not match their ability.
In teens it often shows up as procrastination, disorganized assignments, emotional reactivity, forgetfulness, uneven study habits, and trouble keeping up as school demands climb.
In adults it shows up as missed deadlines, chronic disorganization, forgetfulness, restlessness, impulsive decisions, trouble holding focus in meetings, and a lifelong pattern of underperforming relative to potential.
Your evaluation begins with a one-hour clinical interview where your psychologist gathers a thorough history of your emotional experiences, from childhood through your current daily life. This conversation helps identify anxiety patterns, triggers, and how symptoms are affecting your functioning, so the right assessments can be selected.
Based on your clinical interview, your psychologist selects a personalized battery of anxiety and emotional functioning assessments. Testing involves 2 to 6 hours of in-person evaluation over one to two days. You will also be sent home with self-report questionnaires, and someone close to you can complete their own questionnaire if they choose. If your psychologist identifies signs of other conditions during the process (such as ADHD, depression, or trauma-related concerns), those areas are screened for as well.
All testing data, clinical observations, and questionnaire results are compiled into a detailed diagnostic report. Any co-occurring conditions identified during the evaluation are fully documented so you leave with a clear, complete understanding of what is driving your symptoms.
Approximately two to three weeks after testing, you return for a feedback session. Your psychologist walks through the diagnosis and provides individualized recommendations: coping strategies for home and work, therapy options (such as CBT or other evidence-based approaches), medication guidance if applicable, and next steps tailored to your situation.
Useful questions include: who conducts the evaluation, what tools and tests are used, whether executive function testing is included, whether co-occurring conditions are screened for, and what the report covers. At Core Spring Diagnostics, one psychologist manages every step, gold-standard tools are used, and every evaluation includes a cognitive and executive function baseline with comorbidity screening.
Gifted students with ADHD may perform well enough academically to avoid detection while struggling with organization, time management, and consistency. Core Spring Diagnostics uses cognitive and executive function testing to capture the gap between intellectual ability and executive performance, which is often where ADHD patterns become visible.
Yes. The evaluation report includes diagnostic conclusions and specific recommendations that support accommodation requests at the college level. Many colleges require formal documentation of ADHD from a licensed psychologist, which Core Spring Diagnostics provides as part of the standard evaluation process.
The feedback session is the starting point for action. The psychologist reviews the findings, explains the diagnosis, and walks through individualized recommendations. Next steps may include school accommodations, therapy, executive function coaching, lifestyle adjustments, or further evaluation if additional concerns were identified.
The evaluation uses separate measures for inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, combined with cognitive and executive function testing. The psychologist identifies which symptoms are present and how they interact, then determines the specific ADHD presentation (inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined) that best fits the individual.
Yes. Core Spring Diagnostics can evaluate individuals who are currently on ADHD medication. The psychologist will discuss medication status during the clinical interview and factor it into the interpretation of test results. In some cases, the evaluation may provide a more complete picture of functioning that refines the current treatment approach.
