Your psychologist builds a battery of intellectual and cognitive measures around your specific questions. Testing usually runs 2 to 6 hours across one to two days, with room to add tools for executive function, processing speed, memory, or adaptive skills as needed. Take home questionnaires round out the context.
All of it, scores, observations, and questionnaire results, is drawn together into a detailed report on intellectual ability, cognitive strengths, and processing patterns. Anything else that surfaced, such as ADHD or a learning difference, is documented alongside the core findings.
Typically two to three weeks later you return for a feedback session. Your psychologist walks through what the results mean in plain terms and lays out individualized recommendations: educational guidance, strategies that lean on your strengths, accommodations where they fit, and a next step that matches your goals.
