A single licensed psychologist guides your evaluation from that first conversation through to the feedback session, and our learning disability specialist works alongside them on the writing specific testing. Kids, adolescents, and grown adults all come through our door, each evaluation is grounded first in a cognitive and executive function baseline and then narrowed to your particular writing concern, and we make a point of screening for the conditions that tend to accompany dysgraphia.

Your evaluation opens with about an hour of conversation, where your psychologist gathers a detailed history of writing and fine motor development, moving from early handwriting to the written expression difficulties happening today. What we learn shapes which assessments will most accurately capture the difficulty.
From there, your psychologist arranges a personalized battery combining cognitive and executive function measures with focused writing and fine motor tasks handled by our in house learning disability specialist. Expect 2 to 6 hours of inp erson testing across one to two days, plus questionnaires for you and for teachers or others involved in your learning.
The results from both the psychologist and the learning disability specialist are assembled into one detailed report that addresses cognitive abilities, fine motor skills, spelling, written expression, and any co occurring conditions such as ADHD or a related learning difference.
Roughly two to three weeks later, you return for the feedback session, where your psychologist explains the diagnosis in plain language and provides individualized recommendations: writing intervention strategies, academic accommodations, assistive technology options, and next steps built around you.
No. A referral is never needed to be seen at Core Spring Diagnostics. You can contact us directly for any reason at all, and we will coordinate with your child’s school or your own provider only if you want that.
