Expert PTSD Evaluations in Cross Plains, WI

Maybe sleep has become a battleground, broken by nightmares or a mind that refuses to power down. Maybe the exhaustion is spilling into your work, your patience, and the people you love. PTSD Evaluations in Cross Plains, WI help you understand what is driving it and how to move forward, with care and without judgment. You do not need a referral to begin.

PTSD Testing That Takes Your History Seriously

We start from a baseline of cognitive and executive function, then bring in trauma focused and emotional measures fitted to what you are going through. One licensed psychologist handles every part of the process, keeping to a pace that respects what you have endured, and screens for the concerns that often ride alongside trauma so nothing important is overlooked.

What Our PTSD Evaluation Includes

PTSD Evaluation Support

A caring, trauma informed evaluation that puts words to the toll trauma has taken on your rest, your relationships, and your daily life, distinguishes PTSD from concerns that resemble it, and shapes the findings into recommendations you can act on.

Who May Benefit From a PTSD Evaluation

in Children, Teens, and Adults

Children

In children, exhaustion and trauma can intertwine: nightmares interrupt sleep, and days bring irritability, clinginess, and fresh fears. You might see the event echoed in their play, a harder time settling to focus, and a steady effort to sidestep anything that calls the memory back.

Teens

A worn out teen may be wrestling with intrusive memories and nights that refuse to bring rest. Watch for avoidance of reminders, a shorter fuse or flashes of anger, a numb or detached mood, and difficulty concentrating that shows up at school and at home.

Adults

For adults, poor sleep and nightmares often sit at the center, feeding hypervigilance and a short temper that strain relationships and work. Flashbacks and intrusive memories intrude, reminders get avoided, emotions can flatten into numbness, and the feeling of being always on edge quietly drains the day.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring Diagnostics for PTSD Evaluations

At Core Spring Diagnostics, the same psychologist stays with you from the first conversation through the feedback session, giving trust the time it needs to form. The evaluation is trauma informed and individualized, with no fixed session counts and no hand offs. You set the pace, and we follow your lead.

Our Evaluation Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation and Intake

Your evaluation begins with about an hour of conversation, where your psychologist gently gathers your personal history in a safe and supportive space. Learning how trauma has disrupted your sleep, mood, and days informs which trauma specific assessments follow, and you set the pace the whole way through.

Step 2: Personalized Trauma Focused Testing

Your psychologist then builds a personalized battery of trauma focused assessments, typically 2 to 6 hours of in person testing across one to two days. You take questionnaires home to complete, and someone close to you may fill out their own if they wish. If anxiety, depression, or ADHD surface, they are screened for as well, because trauma rarely comes on its own.

Step 3: Compiling Your Report

Testing data, clinical observations, and questionnaire results are gathered into a detailed diagnostic report. Your psychologist assesses how far trauma has reached into your thinking, your emotions, and your everyday functioning, documenting any co occurring conditions so nothing is missed.

Step 4: Feedback and a Path Forward

Roughly two to three weeks after testing, you return for a feedback session. Your psychologist walks you through the diagnosis and offers individualized recommendations, including evidence based trauma therapies such as EMDR or CPT, coping strategies, medication guidance where appropriate, and next steps built around your recovery.
