Your psychologist designs a personalized testing battery that brings cognitive and executive function assessments together with targeted writing and fine motor testing carried out by our in house learning disability specialist. Testing generally spans 2 to 6 hours over one to two days, giving us a view of both the underlying cognitive patterns and the specific breakdowns in handwriting, spelling, and written expression. Questionnaires go to you and to teachers or others involved in the learning environment as well.
All of the findings from the psychologist and the learning disability specialist are compiled into one detailed diagnostic report, covering cognitive abilities, fine motor skill, written expression, spelling, and any co occurring conditions such as ADHD or other learning differences.
About two to three weeks after testing, you return for a feedback session where your psychologist walks you through the diagnosis and shares individualized recommendations: writing intervention strategies, academic accommodations, assistive technology options, and next steps tailored to what you need.
