Trusted PTSD Evaluations in Madison, WI

Something happened, and it has not stayed in the past the way you were told it would. Sleep, startle, concentration, and closeness to other people are all still shaped by it. A PTSD evaluation in Madison, WI puts precise language around what trauma is doing now, and no referral is needed to begin.

PTSD Testing and Trauma Assessment

The evaluation begins from a baseline of cognitive, adaptive, and executive function, then moves into trauma focused measures that examine intrusion, avoidance, mood, and arousal. One licensed psychologist conducts the whole process, at a pace you set, and screens for the depression, anxiety, and attention difficulties that so often accompany trauma.

What Our PTSD Evaluation Includes

PTSD Evaluation Support

A diagnosis is only useful if it points somewhere. The report describes how trauma has affected thinking, feeling, and daily functioning, then connects those findings to specific evidence based treatment options so the next step is obvious rather than another guess.

Who May Benefit From a PTSD Evaluation

Across All Ages

Children

Sleep that has changed, new fears, regression in skills already mastered, or trauma that surfaces in play and drawing rather than in words. Irritability, clinginess, and trouble concentrating at school often arrive together.

Teens

Withdrawal from friendships that used to matter, sharp irritability, risk taking, or a flatness where there used to be interest. Sleep is often the first thing to go, and the connection to what happened may never be stated out loud.

Adults

Intrusive memories, sleep that will not hold, hypervigilance that never quite switches off, and a steady narrowing of life around what has to be avoided. Many adults have carried this for years while functioning well enough that nobody asked.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring Diagnostics for PTSD Evaluations

Trauma work depends on trust, which is exactly why one psychologist stays with you from the first conversation through the feedback session. You never repeat your history to a new face. The pace is yours, the screening for co occurring conditions is routine, and nothing is fitted into a set number of sessions.

Our Evaluation Process

Step 1: Intake at Your Pace

The evaluation begins with about an hour of clinical interview in a supportive setting. Your psychologist works to understand the nature and impact of what you experienced without pushing for detail, and you set the pace throughout.

Step 2: Trauma Focused Testing

Your psychologist selects a personalized battery of trauma focused assessments, typically 2 to 6 hours of in person evaluation over one to two days. Self report questionnaires go home with you, and someone close to you may complete their own if you would like. Signs of anxiety, depression, or ADHD are screened as a matter of course.

Step 3: The Written Report

Testing data, clinical observations, and questionnaire results are compiled into one detailed report covering the full scope of how trauma has affected cognitive, emotional, and daily functioning. Any co occurring conditions are documented rather than left implied.

Step 4: Feedback and Treatment Direction

Roughly two to three weeks later you return for feedback. Your psychologist explains the findings in plain language and provides individualized recommendations, including evidence based trauma therapy options such as EMDR or CPT, coping strategies, and clear next steps for recovery.
