Expert Executive Function Evaluations in Cottage Grove, WI

Maybe your son is bright and willing yet cannot seem to launch into the work in front of him. Maybe you are the adult who accomplishes plenty while spending twice the energy of anyone else to get there. Our Executive Function Evaluations in Cottage Grove, WI examine why that effort goes into planning, focus, and follow through, and no referral is required to begin.

Executive Function Assessment Near Cottage Grove

We start each evaluation from a baseline of cognitive and executive function, then orient everything toward the concern that prompted your call, with one licensed psychologist overseeing the process end to end. Children, teens, and adults all have a place here, and since executive function struggles rarely occur in isolation, we screen for ADHD, anxiety, and learning differences beneath them.

What Our Executive Function Evaluation Includes

Executive Function Evaluation & Support

We identify exactly where planning, attention, working memory, and follow through lose their footing, and then translate that into grounded, workable strategies for school, work, and home. The aim is to give you tools you can use right away, never the empty suggestion to simply apply more willpower.

Recognizing the Signs of Executive Function Challenges

in Children, Teens, and Adults

Children

A child may complete just the first part of a longer request, forget the finished homework is already in the bag, or come apart when a familiar routine suddenly shifts. Both starting and finishing feel like heavy lifts, and a brief task can quietly consume an entire evening.

Teens

For a teen, notice procrastination pushed to the final hour, deadlines that slide past without notice, and a backpack and set of files in ongoing disorder. The ability is unmistakable, and yet the output keeps falling short of it, most of all when several pressures arrive together.

Adults

As an adult, you might feel a persistent step behind: missed appointments, priorities that never quite resolve, and a stack of half finished projects. The routine business of life demands more from you than it seems to ask of others, and the effort of keeping pace leaves you quietly depleted.

Why choose us

Why Choose Core Spring Diagnostics for Executive Function Evaluations

One psychologist stays with you from the opening call to the closing explanation, so the person who learns your story is the same one who interprets it. There are no rigid session counts and no fixed deadlines; the work proceeds at the pace your case calls for. And because we look at strengths as carefully as challenges, the plan you leave with rests on what is already working for you.

Our Evaluation Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation and History Review

We begin with a conversation lasting about an hour, in which your psychologist builds a complete background, from developmental and academic history through to the cognitive concerns you are navigating now. This is where the purpose of testing takes shape and the most informative measures are chosen.

Step 2: Personalized Testing Battery

Step 2: Personalized Testing Battery Your psychologist then constructs a battery suited to you, generally 2 to 6 hours of in person testing spread across one to two days. When the question warrants, we bring in measures of processing speed, memory, or adaptive skills, and questionnaires go home to add another layer of context.

Step 3: Comprehensive Report

All of the testing data, clinical observations, and questionnaire responses are combined into a detailed report on cognitive strengths, executive function patterns, and any concerns we identified. If ADHD, anxiety, or a learning difference comes to light during testing, we document those results plainly too.

Step 4: Feedback and Personalized Recommendations

About two to three weeks later, you come back for a feedback session and your psychologist walks you through everything in clear, everyday language. You leave with individualized recommendations, from school and workplace supports to strategies that draw on the strengths uncovered in testing.

The two overlap substantially. Since executive function is central to ADHD, we look closely at attention, planning, working memory, and self regulation, and we screen for ADHD together with the anxiety and learning differences that can appear much the same.

It measures the foundational skills you use to plan, begin, organize, remember, and follow through, resting on a baseline of cognitive and executive function, and then connects those results to what you are living day to day.

We do. Our clients include children, teens, and adults, and many adults reach out after years of compensating, frequently once the demands of work or family finally outrun the strategies they had relied on.

You come away with a report in plain language and a feedback session offering practical, individualized recommendations: structures, tools, accommodations where they help, and concrete next steps.
